St. Martin im Kofel

On this route you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the glacier giants of the Ortler-Cevedale group and a wonderful view of the whole Vinschgau Valley. With the cable railway to St. Martin i.K.(1740 m) and the forest road eastwards to the fork and path no. 8/A. The return journey ensues along this numbered path through a beautiful larch wood. Choose path route no. 1 on the “Rössböden” heights and return to the starting point. St. Martin’s church of pilgrimage is worth a visit. Refreshment is available at the Bergrestaurant or Jausenstation Platztair. Ideal Nordic Walking route in summer (pleasant temperatures at 1740 m) and in autumn due to the wonderful colouring of the larch trees.
