Cultural village tour

Date: every Monday from 18.04. to 24.10.2011
(Easter and Pentecost every Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.)

Included: welcome drink

Visit to the St. Peter and St. Paul Parish Church, the Spital Church with the Jörg Lederer altar and the Bichl church.

Meeting point: 3:00 p.m. at “Lacus Wiese” in Latsch
(indoors in the event of bad weather)
Duration: approx. 2-3 hours
Minimum number of participants: 4 people (children only if accompanied by an adult)
Participation fee: 10,00 €/person

Rediscover old games and find out that the stronger player doesn’t always win.
A game experience for the entire family. Suitable for participants from 3 to 99 years old.

Enjoy Springtime

Date: Tuesday 19.04./26.04./03.05./10.05.2011
Meeting point: Latsch Tourist Office at 9:30 a.m.
Duration: approx. 4-5 hours
Participation fee: 8,00 €
Includes: visit to the farm’s own “Bachgut” apiary

We will hike through blossoming orchards to the Untermontani and Obermontani castles and via the “Neuwaalweg” and “Raminiwaal” paths to Tarsch. There at “Bachgut Hof” we will see the farm’s apiary and its quality products.
We will then hike along the “Old Tarsch path” – through blossoming orchards – back to Latsch.

Apple teaching trail and visit to the Mivor Fruit Co-Operative

Start: every Wednesday from 20.04. to 03.08.2011
Meeting point: Mivor parking lot (business district) in Latsch at 2:00 p.m.
Duration: 1.5 hours
Minimum number of participants: 8 people
Participation fee: free

First a competent Mivor employee will give a brief slideshow presentation to provide you with valuable information about “integrated farming”, the comprehensive irrigation systems, the clever frost protection system and – last but not least – the unique taste of Vinschgau apples. Followed by a tour of the work and sorting hall.

Kräuterschlössl (lit: Herb Castle)

Start: every Wednesday from 20.04. to 05.10.2011
Meeting point: 10:10 a.m. at the “Kräuterschlössl” in Goldrain, Schanzenstr. 50 (use the Vinschgau Railway)
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Minimum number of participants: 7 people (suitable for children 12 years of age and older)
Maximum number of participants: 50 people
Participation fee: 5,00 €
Includes: a welcome drink
Additional offers: daily tours of the farm possible for groups with advance registration; upon request we serve a “Marende” snack/herbal dish made from local farm products

Urban and Annemarie await you in the “Kräuterschlössl” to guide you through the carefully arranged herb gardens and reveal the secret of organic gardening without the use of pesticides. You will experience the herbs with all of your senses and learn valuable information about how they are used and refined. The experience show garden and the new love garden on the roof of the “Kräuterschlössl” will delight you with their variety of herbs and wonderful view. With a bit of luck you might even meet the 1st Herb Queen of South Tyrol. Tip: Our farmer’s shop is open all day long, 7 days a week.
New: Once a month starting in March, the two ladies at the “Kräuterschlössl” and other herb experts will guide you into the open countryside under the motto: See - feel – taste - discover nature with us (the exact program can be found in the tourist office’s monthly calendar)

Adventurous afternoon with ponies on the “Rona Ranch” in the Martelltal valley

Start: every WEDNESDAY from 07/06/ to 08/31/2011
Meeting point: 2:30 p.m. at the “Rona Ranch” in the Martelltal valley (tel. +39 347 3713569)
Duration: 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Minimum number of participants: 6 children (suitable for children of 6-10 years of age)
Maximum number of participants: 8 children
Participation fee: 25,00 €
Important to bring along: bicycle helmet, long pants, sturdy shoes
Includes: craft materials

Children learn how to interact with horses: grooming, saddling, riding.
We will make a souvenir to take home as a memory of an adventurous afternoon.

Rafting adventure for our little guests

Start: every Wednesday from 11.05. to 14.09.2011
Meeting point: 1:00 p.m. at the “Acquaterra” office in Kastelbell, Sandenweg 2
Duration: until 5:00 p.m.
To bring along: bathing suit, towel, sneakers (technical equipment is provided free of charge)
Minimum number of participants: 5 children (4 – 14 years old)
Participation fee: per child 28,00 €
Family ticket: at least 3 people (1 adult and 2 children or 2 adults and 1 child; 20% discount on the adult rate of 38,00 €)

Adventure and fun are guaranteed on the rubber boat ride on the “Etsch” from Kastelbell to Naturns accompanied by a certified boat guide.

Activities for children in the AquaForum

Start: every Thursday from 18 June to 27 August 2009
Meeting point: 2:00 p.m. at the cashier's desk of the AquaForum indoor swimming pool in Latsch, Marktstrasse 48
Duration: until 6:00 p.m.

Activities include water and ball games, a treasure hunt, painting and crafts, making fruit salads and much more.

Irrigation hiking trip with wine tasting

Date: every Thursday from 05.05. to 27.10.2011
Start: 3 p.m.
Meeting place: Tourist Board Latsch
Duration: approx. 3.5 hours
Minimum number of participants: 5 people
Maximum number of participants: 20 people
Fees: 10,00 €
Included: Tasting of several red and white wines

Easy hiking trip (approx. 1 hour) along the idyllic Latschanderwaal (irrigation channel road) to Kastelbell. At the farmhouse, you will be welcomed by one of the wine growers, who will give you lots of information about the cultivation, care and processing of grapes. Afterwards, we will taste different wines in the unique wine cellar. The return journey is along the Tieftalweg, through orchards and back to Latsch.

A round walk through Castle Goldrain offers a wealth of adventure.

Start: every Thursday from 21.04. to 27.10.2011
Meeting point: 4:00 p.m. in the castle courtyard (Schlosshof)
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Minimum number of participants: 6 people
Participation fee: 5,00 € adults; children 6-15 years of age 2,50 €
Includes: short slideshow (an overview of the castle), tour of the castle, tasting of the castle’s wine, natural juices and Latsch “Schüttelbrot” bread

Visit the Crystal Tower (free): open Thursdays from 21.04. to 27.10.2011 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Why not also visit the center for well-being, beauty and relaxation in Goldrain Castle's Crystal Tower (crystals, minerals, healing stones, jewelry and oils from precious stones).

Exciting adventure for our little guests – absailing from the water fall (canyoning)

Start: every Thursday from 12.05. to 15.09.2011
Meeting point: 9:30 a.m. at the “Acquaterra” office in Kastelbell, Sandenweg 2
Duration: 3 hours
To bring along: hiking shoes, bathing suit, towel (technical equipment is provided free of charge)
Minimum number of participants: 5 children (8 – 14 years old)
Participation fee: per child 35,00 €
Family ticket: at least 3 people (1 adult and 2 children or 2 adults and 1 child; 20% discount on the adult rate of 48,00 €)

Accompanied by two certified guides, we’ll climb along the waterfall in the wild and romantic Tisser Canyon. Things get especially exciting when we abseil with the suspension gear pulley.
