Accompanied by a National Park forest ranger, the guests can visit a marmot colony. The visitor can get interesting information about these small rodents, the National Park and the work of a forest ranger.

The National Park is rich in mammals. In Val Martello, you can observe chamois and red deer and learn about their habitat and the associated conflicts.

- Observing deer at dusk

You can watch crepuscular animals such as red deer and roes at the new deer observation station at Gioveretto lake together with a National Park forest ranger.

We hike to the Schluderalm mountain hut where we discover the vegetation at the alpine tree line. We also get quite a lot of interesting information about alpine altitudinal belts and the bearded vulture that was released in the course of an international repopulation project in Val Martello from 2000 to 2008.

The 9-stage educational trail leads us past glaciers that have impressively modelled the landscape due to the massive forces.

We hike through different vegetation zones with their relative vegetation until we reach the peak where can enjoy a wonderful view.

- Hiking tour through forests and mountain

We start at the Greit mountain farms and hike along the old irrigation system, the „Kandl“, through the Sebelwald forest to the alpine tree line together with our guide. We continue on the high path of Martello until the „Zirmbichel“ vantage point. We return to the Stallwies restaurant across meadows and pastures.

- Soyreit mill visit

Explore the fascinating grounding process from corn to flour. Terms that have long vanished into oblivion can be easily understood through touching and watching. Old traditional craftwork such as building wooden fences or the so-called „Schindlkliabn“ (splitting shingles) are explained and can be observed.

- Visit of the Tasa herb farm

If you are interested in herb cultivation in Val Martello, you should visit the Tasa herb farm. Herb farmer Monika shows you around her herb garden and gives you interesting information about her passion.
