Snowshoe hiking in the Stilfser Joch National park
Hiking in powdery white snow. Making your own tracks is a sport particularly popular with non-skiers. We will be venturing through the deep snows of the Martell Valley, observing chamois and red deer in the pristine winter landscape – nature at its finest.
Safety thanks to guided snowshoe hikes with the Martell Cross-country and Biathlon School. Winter Prices 2010/2011
- 15,00 € per person up 5 people including snow shoe rent

| Description: |
The Stallwieserhof is situated at an elevation of 1931 m. A wide logging trail leads in front of the building and on east through the Sebelwald. After about 1 hour of trekking, the trail ends at a forest meadow called the Wiesboden. In summer a footpath (designated 15) leads on further, though you have to turn back here in the winter – yet the Wiesboden is still a worthwhile detour. After 15 minutes’ hike you then go through a little depression and up to the Suchbühel. The knoll affords a superb view of the Martell Valley and Vinschgau. Soon after the Suchbühel a logging road branches off westward uphill; after about 1 hour you come to trail 23 (Martell Höhenweg), which soon leads down, running into trail no. 5 coming up from Gasthof Stallwies that leads on to the Laaser Orgelspitze. Trail 5 goes straight down to the Gasthof Stallwies inn. |
| Option: |
For those looking for a more strenuous route, trail 5 leads from the inn Gasthaus Waldheim on the valley floor 400 meters up to the Stallwieser. |
