Latsch - Latschanderwaal
Starting point Walk toward the western part of the village of Latsch . Take the turn onto the Tisser path until you reach the Tisser bridge.
End point Castelbello

Road description Starting at the edge of the little Tisser "Schwemmkegel", the path runs through areas with rich vegetation, including poplars and chestnut trees. The largest part of the path is kept in its original state. The Schnalserwaal can be accessed from Kastelbell and you can hiking til the famous castel Juval (3,5 hours) of Reinhold Messner.

Latsch - Rautwaal

Road description Starting at the Cultural Centre of Morter, walk along the "Schwaigerweg" in the direction of the Wetterkreuz. There, you need to turn left (forest road) and after approx. 200 metres take the path to the Rautwaal on your right. The path leads you through more or less forested slopes and then into a dense forest at the Eastern end of the Morter meadows.

Latsch - Raminiwaal
Starting point Just above the village of Tarsch (access in the direction of the valley terminal), just above the "Residence Haus am Berg"

Road description The path, which is only used as a walking trail, forms the dividing line through the mountainous pine tree forest. Your hiking trip will lead you along the foot of the "Fohnknotts" and eastwards to the Latsch "Schwemmkegel".

Latsch - Neuwaal
Starting point Latsch, IceForum (ice-rink stadium), path number 5

Road description The path leads you along the foot of the mountain in the direction of Obermontani. Shortly before you come to the end of the path, you will find names, years, as well as two self-portraits carved into the rock, which were created by a former water supervisor. It is possible to visit the castle chapel of St. Stephan on 11am or 3pm after a quick phone call to the Peer family, Tel: +39 0473 742344.
Following the path to Ober- and Untermontani (in the direction of the Bierkeller [beer cellar]), you will come to the Mareinwaal and from there back to Latsch.

Martell - Soywaal
Starting point Martell cableway for the Soyalm, near to Cafè Hölderle
End point Reitgreben, above the village of Gand

Road description The path climbs slightly at the beginning and leads up the valley through the forest to Reitgreben. On the way back, you have the option of following valley path no. 36 along the Plima.

Martell - Holzrinnenwaal from Oberhof to Stallwies

Road description The path begins at Oberhof and follows path no. 26 for a short way uphill until you come to a crossroads and have to turn off to the right. You will reach the Holzrinnenwaalweg and must follow this uphill until it ends. Once you’ve reached its end, carry on for a while until you reach a logging road. Close to the logging road, path no. 15 leads to Stallwieshof.
As the path is not very easy to make out, we recommend a guided walk along the Holzrinnenwaal path. You can get more information at the culturamartell national park building: 0039 0473 745027.

Castelbello - Schnalswaal
Starting point Kastelbell, "Köfelgut" market place, path number 3 (it is possible to access the path also from Galsaun and Tschars)

Road description Through chestnut groves and mixed forests, the path runs along the slopes of the Lower Vinschgau region to the foot of Castle Juval, where you can visit a " Waal hut" and a well-functioning "Waalschelle" (water bell)

Road description Follow the road sign "Sonnenberg", through a chestnut grove opposite the St. Ägidius chapel. You will reach the path along the irrigation channels, which leads you along the vineyards of the Kortsch Leiten mountain - passing the sawmill - and onto the sports grounds

Mals - Oberwaal

Road description The path leads you partly over rocky ground and partly through mixed forests until you come to the "Pflanzgarten" of Mals. The route can be extended if you walk to Tartsch and Schluderns

Glurns - Mitterwaal
Starting point he car park at the St. Pankratius parish church. From here, walk along the town walls until you come to a little campsite. Cross the bridge, as well as the main road and follow the well-marked path until you reach the access to the Mitterwaal.
End point Rifair in the Münster Valley

Road description The hiking trip goes through mixed forests and the very beautiful Calven forest with its tall larch trees along the Rambach (stream). The middle part of the trip brings you past some difficult ground, which - however - less dangerous if you take a little care.

Taufers - Turnaunawaal
Starting point Kirchgasse, just below the Taufer parish church, path number 8

Road description The path along the irrigation channel runs from the "Kirchgasse" just below the Rotund and Reichberg ruins, through a little grove and then mostly along the sunny slopes to the Turnauna talus. Via a field path you will easily reach the Turnauna ground, then the Calven forest and finally, the Calven bridge.

Taufers /Chanel - Tschenölwaal
Starting point Avinga Valley, path no. 1

Road description From the market place in Taufers take path number 1 into the Avinga Valley , passing a sawmill, until you come to the marking number 2/A. After a short ascent, you will reach the path along the irrigation channels, which brings you initially through a young forest, then across a steep southern slope. The path runs along a small ridge full of pine trees (slope towards the North-East) and to the meadows above Taufers in the Münster Valley.

Schluderns - Bergwaal
Starting point Saldur ravine, path number 20

Road description The hiking trip along the irrigation channels leads you across the "Edelweißsteig" into the ravine of the Saldur stream, through the forest and partly onto rocky ground. The water flows in some areas through so-called "Kandeln" (hollow tree trunks), which are mounted to the rock walls, until you come to the Vernalhof.

Schluderns - Gschneirer Waal

Road description This particular "waal" (path along the irrigation channels) is one of the most beautiful of the Upper Vinschgau region. From the Gschneirer Höfe (farmhouses), it runs mostly through the forest along the sunny slopes of the valley just above Schluderns and ends at the Grein Hof.

Prad - Frauwaal
Starting point Take the Suldenbach bridge, walk on the right side of the stream, pass the tennis courts until you reach the end of the village. Turn right and walk up the mountain (always keep on the right hand side). This path will join path number 9

Road description The path leads you initially through very steep slopes with bushes and pine trees, then - just above Agums - through forests, which are interrupted by meadows and fields. Finally, you will reach Lichtenberg

Prad - Agumser Bergwaal
Starting point Suldenbach bridge - Gargitz - Patzleidhof (farmhouse) - passing the BBQ point. Then turn to your left
End point Stilfser bridge

Road description Starting at the meadows of the Agumser Höfe (farmhouses), the path partly runs through little groves with erosion trenches until you come to the hamlet at the Stilfser bridge, where you reach the irrigation channels. It is also recommended to walk to Stilfs.

Laas - Laaser Leitenwaal

Road description The path begins at the Allitz "Waaler Hut" - a resting place for all those, who work along the irrigation channels - and leads you through meadows and orchards at the foot of the Laaser Leiten mountain until you reach the "Loretzboden" just above the Laas sports fields. The path is combined with an interesting teaching trail.
